Some great examples of Trompe L’oeil

A lovely portrait in itself, but when you find out the artist has exceuted it entirely in Bic biros you suddenly become a little awe-inspired.

I really need to get a bigger range of Bic biros as this artist has used yellow, pink and light blue; none of which I can find in the UK. I may need to look at websites abroad…

Anyway, I hope she liked it

I’ve finally managed to see a piece through to fruition. This portrait is my first attempt at depicting out of focus imagery. I didn’t anticipate how tricky that would be and I’m not best pleased with the outcome. Still, it is nice to be back in the drawing game again

His photography is amazing in itself but I am really taken by his ‘Camera vs. Pencil’ series. These works are photographs with cleverly placed drawings layed over sections of them.They are clever, witty and fun. Well worth looking at his site!

Alas, we did not have a White Christmas this year.

He is a traditional figure artist, working in a range of media including paint and pen. It’s wonderful to see traditional figure painting being embraced in the current contemporary climate of modern, conceptual art and digital media.

The image shown here is my favourite. It is absolutely perfect in it’s composition, colour and lighting. The flesh looks more flesh-like than in reality. There is a definite bit of Freud in there too.
